This policy explains how Lightworks Digital Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit lightworksdigital.co.uk or get in touch with us. We are the data controller for the information described here.
Who we are
Lightworks Digital Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, operating as a paid social advertising and growth consultancy. You can contact us at info@lightworksdigital.co.uk for any question relating to this policy or your data.
What we collect
We collect two kinds of information:
- Information you give us. When you complete the enquiry form or email us, we receive your name or brand name, website address, indicated advertising budget, and whatever you choose to write in your message.
- Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, Google Analytics collects anonymised data about your visit - pages viewed, approximate location at city level, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This does not identify you personally.
Why we use it
We use the information you provide solely to respond to your enquiry, assess whether we are a good fit for your business, and if we work together, to deliver our services. Analytics data is used to understand how the site performs and improve it.
Our lawful bases for processing are legitimate interests (responding to business enquiries and improving our website) and, where we work together, performance of a contract.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not add you to a mailing list without your explicit consent. We do not use your enquiry to build advertising audiences.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of third-party services to run the business. Where your data passes through them, it is limited to what is necessary:
- Google Analytics - anonymised website usage data. Google's own privacy policy applies.
- Email and hosting providers - to receive and store your enquiry.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept for up to 24 months, so we can pick up a conversation if you come back to us. If we work together, records are retained for six years after the engagement ends to meet UK accounting and tax requirements. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.
Cookies
This site uses Google Analytics cookies to measure traffic and understand how visitors use the site. These cookies do not identify you personally. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking them will not affect your ability to use this site.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your data, where we have no legal obligation to keep it
- Object to or restrict how we process your data
- Request your data in a portable format

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please raise it with us first and we will try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
